Getting To Know People

The Guardian, Tuesday 9th September

What a wonderful surprise!

The Guardian has published an article about life models and their feelings and fears behind modelling in a class. It’s really fascinating and inspiring to read. Of the five models they’ve interviewed, I’ve drawn three of them.

During the class, I usually try to have a conversation with the models at the break, about an hour into the session. It’s really good to understand who they are as people outside of this environment, as I find it affects the drawings I create. They are no longer just a canvas but a personality too.

Having overcome trauma of my own, I really appreciate the openness and strength that comes with putting yourself out there. Overcoming fear, is the biggest hurdle to experiencing life in the fullest.
