If Wall’s Could Talk

Conwy Castle Site Visit with Cadw

The site visit to Conwy Castle couldn’t have gone better with the client team at Cadw.

Today we were walking the site of King Edward’s gigantic castle, where we have devised and created an audio tour to enable the visitors to get a better grasp of medieval life. The audio tour, written and recorded to sound like a podcast allows for discussions between our Cadw expert ‘Ellen’ with modern day hotelier ‘Rhys’ who works at nearby Bodysgallen Hall. Medieval society is discussed and contrasted with the way we do things today.

There are 20 stops on the tour, and if you want to geek out on all the information it will take 90 minutes to 2 hours to have located all the stops and enjoyed the views and towers along the way…

Guide ID, a Dutch AV hardware supplier are providing the kit for the audio, and during the visit we checked out locations within the visitor centre to find a good location to store, charge and hand out the 300 Podcatchers.

The site visit allowed us to iron out the script, shorten the majority of audios, adjust the running order and make final tweaks. In the next few weeks we’ll get the script translated into Welsh and book in the recording studio and actors for the read through and recording sessions.
